Ofcom awards two new community radio licences in Scotland

Ofcom today announces the award of two new community radio licences for services in Scotland.
Community radio services are provided on a not-for-profit basis focusing on the delivery of specific social benefits to a particular geographical community or a community of interest. The awards are to:
- Crystal FM, Penicuik, Midlothian
- East Coast FM, Haddington, East Lothian
Details of these new community radio services are as follows:

Crystal FM will provide a community radio service catering for all residents of Penicuik and surrounding villages in Midlothian.
East Coast FM

East Coast FM proposes to serve those living and working in Haddington and in the surrounding area.
Licences are awarded for a five-year period.
