Colette Bowe announces decision to step down as Chairman in March 2014
04 July 2013
Ofcom Chairman Colette Bowe today announced that she will step down from the Board in March 2014, when her terms ends.
Colette was appointed as Ofcom Chairman in March 2009 for a five-year period. Prior to this, Colette was the first Chairman of Ofcom’s Consumer Panel and joined the main Board in 2008.
"I am extremely proud of the fact that Ofcom has served citizens and consumers, and achieved so much while also reducing its cost base," said Colette. "It has been a privilege to chair such a strong board which is absolutely focused on delivering on Ofcom’s priorities."
Colette added: "Having served a full term, I believe that it is in the best interests of Ofcom if I make it clear now that my term as Chairman is fixed and will end in March 2014. This is important for the independence of Ofcom and its Board."
